Taste.

Just thinkin' after watchin' local based channel 9 Chicago news....

Some of my most favorite times in good ole' Chicago was the Taste.
A time when the fireworks were plenty, the concerts were free & the food was...well, less expensive.

Now here we are @ a time where Chicago's greed & poor local government has destroyed such a rememberable occasion just 2 fill their own pockets.

Many of my childhood memories stem back 2 Grant Park, the several dozen food vendors & the variation of people from all walks of life....

Now, there's absolutely nothing...Not a dayum thing!!!!
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

Once again, Chicago puts it's people last & themselves first.
Shame.

Peace!...with 2 fingers;)

  1. Seriously? Gone?

*sigh* I've watched a lot of bitty towns keep their traditions, even through hard financial times. Pffffftttt to those who don't bother to make the effort! Hmmmmmph.

    1. Chicago is turning itself inside out with the criminal mind. All about self & what they can get from it. Not about the people like it used 2 be years before. The Taste was a huge connection with Chicago & the rest of the world with a major draw for tourist.
Now?....Nothing!...Sheeessssh!!....I miss home but need 2 look forward. One day @ a time. Yep!

      Peace!...with 2 fingers;)

  2. Cincinnati where I grew up had a festival like that, and you could get a little bit of food for a small price and try out a lot of places. Even in its heyday, Taste of Chicago would charge more and give you a big plate, so you couldn't try too many places.
