Period of Solace.

As the New Year looms before us, in retrospect it's been an absolute amazing year accomplishing this period of solace.

A period that took me 2 a place unimaginable where time appeared 2 stand still.

Thankfully able 2 find my rightful place
& coming 2 the realization of where I don't belong, it's time 2 move forward where freedom isn't just merely a word but an actual existence.

Thanks Georgia for serving your purpose along with the socially awkward experience but with 2 fingers i gotta go!
See you on the other side....maybe not.

Fortunately these days there's the awesome luxury of washer & dryer. 

Woohoo!!...

It was just yesterday when we were attending the local laundrymat while carrying loads of clothing up & down stairs was the norm. 

Now, having such machinery has become a definite God send.

Not that I wouldn't mind doing it all over again or anything but man isn't great 2 stay home while 

keeping dirty underwear for you 

& your eyes only?

Looking back @ everything, I'll have 2 say it was one for the taking but dayum...

Though not well versed in weddings which requires planning on both ends & proper execution, it came out pretty well....

At times I find it hard 2 believe that sister Vivian has left us for a much better place. 

 no pain nor suffering, turmoil or fear.

Looking back over the years, I can recall hurtful words shared where the end result remained loving....(that's just life)

There aren't words 2 express the relationship we shared - it was always interesting 2 see what was in store whenever she was around.

Willing 2 give the clothes off her back with that infectious smile & exhausting laugh.....

HAAAAAA!!! HAAAAA!!!.....HAAAAAA!!! (loudly & I mean Loud!!!)

She made sure everyone in the room knew of her approval...with laughter & that's cool.

It's been a good while since last riding any sort of public transportation. 

Well more like since arriving 2 hot azz Georgia back in early March. 

They call it the Marta system. 

Hmmm....

Similar 2 Chicago's CTA (Chicago Transit Authority), one must have an acronym...

Well after a few minutes on Google one finds out the actual meaning & no it's not

Like all signs used, it’s a metaphor for “direction” in life..

Stop & think.

Stop & re-examine your present situation & make the necessary adjustment whatever it may be.

Imagine driving your car without signs & signals…. or better yet, something as simple as walking down the street. 

It brings about a sense of order, safety & security.

Emergency.

I've always been one that find most gratification watching & reading that incite thought, understanding, revelation. 

The more you know the better right?

Refusing 2 be left in the dark on what's around me, I stand 2 readily prepared for any situation.

I mean, how could a Jerry Springer or a Maury Povich fill such a void that appears so much more important?  Who really cares about Tom Cruise's divorce & his obsession with cults?

Well as of late, there just so happen 2 be way, way, way 2 much going on. 

So many so called natural disasters where lives are completely destroyed.....fires, floods, crazy heat in the most unusual places...

Then there seems 2 be some sorta major food crisis where prices are ridiculously through the roof. 

Hmmm...maybe that's why you're seeing cannibalism going on nowadays. Snortin' bath salts?
Literally eating people?
Seriously?

No way around it, there definitely an EMERGENCY situation going on...

Ass-Kickin' 101.

There are just some things misunderstood until after the fact. 

Similar 2 a child learning not 2 play with fire after getting burned that one dredful time. 

Usually it takes only once but for others...well, I guess the curiosity continues 2 kill the cat.

Speaking of cats, new addition "Slappy" (who's a mere 3 months) 

finds it upon himself regularly 2 venture out into the backwoods of Georgia with no regard....(meow, meow, meow)

Despite the awesome wisdom of it's owner, 

(**clear throat) he makes it a priority 2 see the world from the backwoods perspective only 2 return bruised & beaten.... (again).

What happened Slappernator? (That's his nickname if you're wonderin')

Chances are it's the crew of hillbilly felines awaiting in the deep shadows for a crash course in ass kickin' 101.

"Dayum Tammy....maybe we outta keep him in the pad...."

That was several weeks ago.

Since, with a visit 2 the vet for battle wounds & 2 ass kickins later, we think he understands.

(Well maybe...)

Guess his name is fittin' for the ocassion getting "Slapped" around & all...lmao!

Finally I've grown 2 realize the importance of cultivating a healthy & lasting relationship. 

In prior post, I've made known of the need for commitment, effort & of course responsibility 

(in no specific order).

Safe 2 say that there's no such thing as having all the answers but majority rules.....for the more I know the better.

Simply put, it gets easier in time.

Ok, ok....not meaning 2 appear sappy or anything...just making myself a personal reminder note that everyone just so happens 2 read from time 2 time.

That's fine though. No shame...

Taste.

Just thinkin' after watchin' local based channel 9 Chicago news....

Some of my most favorite times in good ole' Chicago was the Taste. 

A time when the fireworks were plenty, the concerts were free & the food was...well, less expensive.

Now here we are @ a time where Chicago's greed & poor local government has destroyed such a rememberable occasion just 2 fill their own pockets. 

Many of my childhood memories stem back 2 Grant Park, the several dozen food vendors & the variation of people from all walks of life....

Now, there's absolutely nothing...Not a dayum thing!!!! 

Oh well, it was good while it lasted. 

Once again, Chicago puts it's people last & themselves first. 

Shame.
